When I checked hide.me’s website, I found a long list of websites that the VPN says it can unblock. Not only does this include Netflix, but also Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and more.
However, Netflix is notorious for being extremely difficult for VPNs to unblock. The streaming giant is constantly blacklisting VPN servers, so most VPNs have given up trying to stay ahead of the ban. If hide.me claims that it can access Netflix, then the provider must be confident that it can deliver — and so I put it to the test.
Does Netflix Actually Work with Hide.me VPN?
Yes, hide.me does work with Netflix but only if you’re on the Premium plan. You’ll find a special streaming tab in the app, where you can connect to an optimized server for Netflix.
Unfortunately, you can’t unblock any streaming sites on the free version and this includes Netflix. When I connected to a US server on the free plan, I only saw Netflix’s infamous proxy error message:
